Faith Based Resources
Sometimes life throws us unexpected and unwanted circumstances and consequences that cause pain, suffering, and unhappiness. These areas can result in depression, addictions, violence, divorce, illness, death and many others. There are many resources for help that are provided by social services, government and private agencies. The resource centers can treat the body and mind, but do not provide the spiritual element that can help heal the physical, mental, and emotional state of a person. By introducing faith-based resources, parents, children, and teens have a alternative resource that reaches beyond human science and understanding.
What is a faith-based resource?
Faith is belief in a supernatural power or being. Faith-based resources are organizations that rely on the divine help of God as part of their curriculum. They use the Word of God from the Bible and pray believing that God can help even in areas that seem hopeless and impossible. Many great programs are offered by local churches that provide their services for free.
Celebrate Recovery
Celebrate Recovery is a Christ centered recovery program developed by Rick Warren, the author of the Purpose Driven Life and John Baker. It is based on the 12 steps and eight recovery principles developed from the Beatitudes in the Bible. It is for anyone struggling with "hurts, hang-ups, and habits", who is open to the healing process through the loving power of Jesus Christ. Anyone in the community who may be suffering from the following is welcome:
| alcohol/drugs | insecurity | sexual addictions |
| fear/anxiety | abuse | co-dependency |
| gambling | perfectionism | overspending |
| controlling | eating disorders | over eating |
| divorce | procrastination | grief |
| hypochondria | guilt | anger/rage |
| emotional hurts | relationship problems |
